How we choose the funds
E*TRADE uses a fund name screener to search keywords – such as “women” or “artificial intelligence” – to identify ETFs focused on the selected themes. An ETF is required to invest 80% of its assets in the type of investment or industry suggested by its name. So, an ETF with “clean energy” in its name has to invest at least 80% of its assets in the clean energy industry.
